Terrain? Needs paint!

Finished building. Base coated. See where I'm going here? Small installation. Maybe a military building of some sort.

Interestingly, my photos have uncovered unpainted areas. Once more into the breach eh?

Officer of the Fleet

Standard Form & My Version
From Rhovan's Guard Army

Also, Picasa Web Album is sweet! Perhaps I shall stop with the Photobucket. Perhaps.

Terrain? Sure is!

It comes along.

More work to be done, mostly finishing the foam off so I can spray paint this bad boy. Then you'll get a feel for it as a complete form and not as disjointed parts.

Terrain? Could be!

What do ya think? Seems like it could be a handy little building + defensive-able terrain.

We'll see how long I sit on this project.

Next and Last

I just finished these two guys.

And here's a shot that shows my attempt at a heat distorted barrel. Also, this is what I meant by all weapons having red tips. I think it looks neat, and will unify well.

And next on the painting block. He just got off the chopping block. My left hand still hurts from holding onto him so tightly.

The green blob on his shirt is because he had a dent. And clothing doesn't normally do that. Just so you can see the difference on him (hint: It's his head) here is the official photo of him.

Doh!

So I just finished my first 5 Imperial Guardsmen, and I might have ruined them.

Ya see, I hate glossy mini's, but ya gotta use glossy varnish to really protect a model. Matte varnish just doesn't provide the protective umph necessary to resist hand oils and touching and dropping and such.

So I've got my 5 guys all varnished up, hit em with the matte varnish and now they're dusty looking. And not in a good way. Not weathered. But obviously coated wrong. I did a bit of finger rubbing, which made the shoulder pads look a bit better.

So tomorrow I wash them with water and a brush, and hopefully they recover. If not, into the simple green they go and I've undone all the work on em.

Shit!
